We’re excited to introduce a powerful set of enhancements to our Journey system:

Adding journey schedulable actions, with the ability to send email, sms, and push in specific time windows.

We will be fixing a regression on data flow. To apply these upgrades, core data-flow service must be redeployed. No data will be lost. Incoming items will be queued and delivered once the upgrade completes.

We will be performing a scheduled maintenance to:
Redeploy the Flink streaming application, and
Reprocess all historical data from the source in order to populate updated state definitions (e.g., structural or schema changes in keyed state, value state, etc.).

This step is required to introduce a new state schema and guarantee correctness and consistency of downstream processing.

We’re rolling out the new Journey Task engine and updated Slack transformers.
Both components run on our Flink cluster, so we must drain traffic, redeploy the jobs with the new code and state schema, then restore from checkpoints.

We’re redeploying our Flink stream-processing cluster to enable the new Journey A/B Testing feature. All event traffic will be drained, the jobs redeployed with the new schema, and the state restored from checkpoints.
